Access
Enabled T1 T2 timer to show as stats in IxNetwork UI when DHCP client has already negotiated the IP address.
802.1X has been migrated to NGPF. As part of migration, these new features have been added as well: 802.1X is now supported on VM Load Modules; SHA256 and SHA512 Signatures are now supported; The implementation has been qualified against Cisco ISE 2.3.0; The status column in session details tab provides more state information, and 802.1X logs can be viewed on Client itself.
The new option "Skip Release on Apply Change" which was added to DHCP Relay Agent TLV Profile has been removed and by default the action will take effect on every TLV change.
Added functionality to send the RECONFIGURE command in case of DHCPv6 to a Relay Agent.
Added support to accept 32 bit as mask in PPPoE while requesting for IP from PPPoE server.

High Level API
Added HLAPI support for PCEP
High Level API support has been added for BGP Segment Routing (BGP-SR).
High level API support has been added for NGPF BGP Flowspec.

MPLS
NGPF RSVP-TE is enhanced to support MD5 and SHA1 authentication.
BGP labeled unicast route in NGPF is enhanced to support multiple MPLS labels according to RFC 8277. However, traffic support is not added yet for multiple MPLS labels.
NGPF LDP is enhanced to support network group which could be connected to LDP layer so that it is not shared with other protocols.
NGPF NG-MVPN is enhanced to support mLDP P2MP LSP as P-tunnel. This is beta quality.

Routing/switching
User defined AFI/SAFI can now be configured in NGPF BGP (similar to classic BGP).
RFC 7166 OSPFv3 authentication is now supported.
NTP Client emulation is now added in NGPF.
Multicast routes can now be configured with correct AFI/SAFI in NGPF BGP (similar to classic BGP).
Options added in “Statistical Route Generation” to skip loopback, multicast and user specified address ranges.

SDN
NGPF EVPN is enhanced to include only L3 Route Target for type 5 route and L2 Route Target for MAC/IP route.
PCEP: Ixia PCEP solution now supports XRO object. The PCE supports it for both SR-TE and RSVP-TE LSPs and PCC supports it for SR-TE LSPs.
ISIS Segment Routing traffic generation has been enhanced to support penultimate-hop-popping (PHP).
NGPF OpenFlow allows a second level of learned information to be triggered from the first level of Learned Information.
NGPF EVPN is enhanced to support on the fly change of MAC mobility sequence number in type 2 MAC/IP routes.
IxNetwork support for IPv6 Segment Routing (SRv6) Network Programming is introduced in this release with beta quality. This includes ISIS support for new SRv6 draft and BGP L3VPN (both v4 and v6) support over SRv6 core. (Requires new license)
NGPF EVPN is enhanced to support multi-site EVPN border gateway emulation. This is alpha quality.
PCEP: Ixia PCEP support for Stateful PCE and PCE-Initiated LSP is now upgraded from draft to RFC8231 and RFC8281.
NGPF BGP emulation now supports on-the-fly changes in the color extended community.
IxNetwork support for Bit Indexed Explicit Routing (BIER) is introduced with beta quality. The BIER support includes ISIS as routing underlay and NG-MVPN for multicast flow overlay. (Requires new license)
BGP-LS extensions for segment routing BGP egress peer engineering (BGP EPE) support is introduced in this release with beta quality.
BGP Segment Routing (BGP-SR) support has been upgraded to include support for multiple SRGB TLVs.
PCEP: Ixia PCC now includes IPv4-LSP-ID TLV within LSP object of PCReport message for SR-TE LSPs and follows "Make Before Break" after receiving PCUpdate message from the PCE for SR-TE LSPs.

Known Issues List

Access

Bug Number Notes
1469164 802.1X: More than one device group on a single port is not supported for 802.1X NGPF protocol emulation.
1469710 802.1X: Legacy option "Use VLAN to Identify Supplicant" is not supported in NGPF.
1470436 802.1X: If the user stops the 802.1X NGPF sessions one-by-one, and restarts again then the new stats will be added to the previous stats. User should manually clear the statistics using "Clear All Statistics" command before starting the protocols to avoid the addition of stats.

High Level API

Bug Number Notes
1473726 A field accepting value in hex format cannot be modified through HLAPI if its pattern is selected as Repeatable Random. Other patterns can be used for such fields.

Routing/switching

Bug Number Notes
1467521 The two fields Type and SubType of Exte-Community are interrelated for a few parameters. For a correct configuration for Type EVPN, Subtype should be Routers's MAC and for LinkBW subtype should be extendedBW. Subtype gets selected automatically when corresponding type is selected. The value of some Type filed is directly co-related with the value of Some Sub-type filed. That's why Overlay index is not applicable for those fields for this release.
1470117 In NGPF, though Simulated Topology could be connected to OSPF or IS-IS layer connector, it may not work. As a workaround always connect Simulated Topology to Ethernet connector.
1477065 In NGPF BGP GUI, column "Custom SID Type" in the "BGP 3107" configuration tab under BGP Peer is removed. This configuration is now added in the BGP Port Properties under SRv6 tab with name "Prefix SID Attr Type". If any existing configuration is using a non-default value for this field then it needs to be re-configured in this new location.
1477727 There is an issue of GUI hang for Statistical Route Distribution (SRD) skip loopback and skip multicast feature in BGP. Issue arises when user tries to configure higher ipv4 address like 10000 or above with lower Prefix Length Start value below 16. Workaround is to configure Prefix Length Start value equal to or above 16.

SDN

Bug Number Notes
1477608 NGPF Openflow Controller session can go to bad state if user tries to trigger the learned information without any pause. Users are advised to wait for ongoing learned info actions to complete before triggering the next learned information. User can also recover the session by stopping and starting the protocol again.

TCL

Bug Number Notes
1473413 Users should not use old scriptgen API ["ixNet exec scriptgen"] which is deprecated. Instead they should switch to newer one ["ixNet exec generate /globals/scriptgen"].
1473772 While setting IPv4 address Multi Values to Custom through TCL script can throw some error like : Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Resolved Defects List

High Level API

Bug Number Notes
1474859 An issue with creating AS_Path and AS_Path Segments in BGP route range through HLAPI is fixed.

MPLS

Bug Number Notes
1473788 VPLS Traffic picks up wrong MPLS label.
1474386 ARP does not get resolved over LDP VPWS pseudowire.
