Ixia Software Release Notes
UHD 1.0
Build Number: 1.0.127(July, 2020)
Welcome to the UHD 1.0 release. This is the first software release for the Ixia UHD100T32, QSFP28 Ultra-HighDensity 32-Port Test System.
The UHD application is a purpose built web application to run Layer 2 to 3 testing on a UHD platform.
It lets users configure control plane using protocol emulation, build data plane traffic and also run RFC benchmark quick tests.
UHD100T32 is a self contained system to which users can connect via a web browser to run tests as well as perform administrative tasks like license and chassis management.
Please see sections below for application and hardware compatibility, new features, resolved issues, and known issues.

A UHD100T32 chassis must have appropriate licenses installed. The UHD100T32 chassis ships from the factory with the no licenses installed.
Installing a License:
An email should have been received with your Activation Codes as per the option selected while purchasing. If it has not been received yet, please contact your Ixia Sales Representative or Ixia Customer Support.
To add new license login to the UHD web interface and navigate to --> Top right Wheel menu -> Administration --> License Manager -> Activate License.
On the next dialog enter all activation codes for the unit. Offline license registration is also available.
UHD100T32 has all the software preinstalled on it. A supported web browser is required to access UHD100T32 web application.
Update UHD100T32 Software
1. Download latest UHD100T32 software update packages from https://support.ixiacom.com/version/uhd100t32-10
2. Copy packages to a USB flash drive and plug the USB flash drive to a USB port on the UHD100T32 front panel. The USB disk partitions are visible under /media/auto/ directory in admin shell.
OR
2. Copy packages over SCP/SFTP.
3. Run the following command
kcos deployment offline-install path/to/package.tar
4. Reboot the UHD100T32 with the following command
kcos system reboot

Safety Notice Regarding UHD100T32 Chassis
WARNING: In order to prevent accidental injury to personnel, do not leave the QSFP28 transceiver cages uncovered on the UHD100T32 chassis. When transceivers
are not installed, port end caps must be used. The metal edge of the transceiver cage is SHARP. To avoid injury, ALWAYS keep the open transceiver cage covered with the end cap.
Contact ISG Technical Support to obtain replacement end caps (part number 503-0012).
UHD 1.0 features
UHD100T32 |
944-1180: IXIA, UHD100T32, Ultra-high density network infrastructure test system, 32 port fixed chassis model with native QSFP28 100GE physical interfaces and L2-3 support, 1RU chassis. |
U100-BASE: IXIA, UHD Base Tier ,1 year Subscription for UHD100T32, Ultra-high density network infrastructure test system, 32 port fixed chassis model with native QSFP28 100GE physical interfaces and L2-3 support, 1RU chassis. |

50G
Bug Number |
Notes |
1538409 |
In rare instances, a 50G link may initialize so as to show a slow rate of RX CRC or RX PCS errors. Workaround is to perform a Simulated Cable Disconnect and reconnect to bring port down and then back up. Please use CA-N or AWG 26 cables for best results.
|
Getting Started Guide
Bug Number |
Notes |
1544025 |
The Layer 1 specifications for 50GE in Getting Started Guide incorrectly state that 50GE supports Auto-negotiation and Link Training. UHD100T32 supports IEEE 25GE and 50GE (not Consortium). 50GE IEEE does not support Auto-negotiation or Link Training. Only Consortium support these.

1544029 |
The procedure to sign into UHD100T32 from a Serial Connection is missing a step. After first signing in with admin/admin credentials, you will be prompted to sign in with the word 'console'. After about a minute a new login prompt will appear. Then sign in as admin/admin credentials to enter the admin shell.

IMIX
Bug Number |
Notes |
1543625 |
Specific frame size mixes with a large percentage of frames over 3K bytes and containing three or more frame sizes may not reach line rate
|
Licensing
Bug Number |
Notes |
1543740 |
Tier 2 Subscription users: When choosing license level, change the subscription mode from the default Mixed to Subscription. This is due to a GUI bug when selecting subscription licenses.
|
Logs
Bug Number |
Notes |
1543741 |
When performing a Diagnostics dump, user must refresh the UI. Dump completion does not cause auto-refresh.
|
Performance
Bug Number |
Notes |
1537394 |
For 25G/50G ports the difference between the desired and measured transmit rate may be as large as 0.15% of line rate
|
1542836 |
For packet encapsulations of more that 2 headers, line rate may not be achieved for very small packet sizes.
|
RestPy
Bug Number |
Notes |
1538645 |
Existing PortMapAssistant() module of RestPY will not work with UHD port style notations. Please use AssignPorts API or look at the current sample script for UHD in Openixia.com.
|
Statistics
Bug Number |
Notes |
1531257 |
Sometimes after stopping traffic if you leave the test untouched for 180+ seconds, the tx statistics will vanish from all traffic statistics and an error will be thrown as hardware desync detected. You will be able to start the traffic without any issue next time.
|
1539157 |
When running 64B traffic at line rate with a single 25G/10G port pair, the real time traffic delta may be positive. This delta will be zero once traffic stops given there is no loss in the DUT.
|
1542413 |
In traffic scenarios with small burst sizes, and occasionally in long duration scenarios, there is a possibility of seeing blank statistics after traffic is stopped. If this is experienced, recommendation is to enable run-time Stat CSV logging while test is in progress.
|
1543717 |
In some rare occasions the latency numbers reported may be very high, clearing statistics will reset them to correct value.
|
Transceivers
Bug Number |
Notes |
1542882 |
If links are down after switching into an invalid speed mode for a transceiver, that transceiver may need to be removed and inserted back.
|
Web UI
Bug Number |
Notes |
1532663 |
Using UHD UI at the same time a script is being run on the same session may show inconsistent UI. Workaround is to wait for the script to finish and refresh the web browser.
|
1538537 |
In some high port count cases UHD web application may get into a bad state on repeated open/close of sessions. In such cases workaround is to close and reopen a new session.
|
1539836 |
Creating a topology while a test is running is not supported
|
1541051 |
Sometimes, application requires a web browser refresh to show correct number of protocols in the current configuration
|
1544005 |
After loading a config with ports assigned, user needs to wait for 2 mins before starting the protocols. If user starts protocols before 2 mins then a harmless error will be thrown.
