UHD 1.2
Build Number: 1.2.42 (November, 2020)

About This Release

Welcome to the UHD 1.2 release. This is the third software release for the Ixia UHD100T32, QSFP28 Ultra-HighDensity 32-Port Test System.

The UHD application is a purpose built web application to run Layer 2 to 3 testing on a UHD platform.
It lets users configure control plane using protocol emulation, build data plane traffic and also run RFC benchmark quick tests.
UHD100T32 is a self contained system to which users can connect via a web browser to run tests as well as perform administrative tasks like license and chassis management.

Please see sections below for application and hardware compatibility, new features, resolved issues, and known issues.

OR
2. Copy packages over SCP/SFTP.
3. Run the following command
	kcos deployment offline-install kcos-deployment-service-[version].tar
4. Reboot the UHD100T32 with the following command
	kcos system reboot
5. Once system is up complete installation by running the below command:
	kcos deployment offline-install uhd-[version]-system-[version].tar
6. Once updated, reboot the system with command:
	kcos system reboot
7. To verify update is successful, check software versions from admin shell with command:
	kcos deployment packages show

Field Notices

Safety Notice Regarding UHD100T32 Chassis

WARNING: In order to prevent accidental injury to personnel, do not leave the QSFP28 transceiver cages uncovered on the UHD100T32 chassis. When transceivers are not installed, port end caps must be used. The metal edge of the transceiver cage is SHARP. To avoid injury, ALWAYS keep the open transceiver cage covered with the end cap.

What's New

UHD 1.2 features

Infrastructure
UHD100T32 now supports upto 32 sessions of control plane (BGP) and running traffic over them. User may have to switch to a high scale mode from the REST API Browser using below API. "setChassisModeSwitch Mode(default/highRoute)"

LACP/LAG
LACP protocol is now supported on UHD100T32. Users can configure LAG to load balance traffic across LAG member ports.

Statistics
Users can now track based on egress fields in packet headers.

Resolved Defects List

Administration

Bug Number Notes
1550874 In previous releases IPv6 management was not supported. Specifically IPv6 administration or application usage was not supported. With UHD 1.2, this is now supported. Users can configure an IPv6 address on the management interface, login and transfer files via this IPv6 address, and access the UHD web application through a browser using this IPv6 address.
1550885 The admin CLI password will persist on system reboot. (previously it was resetting to factory default passwords)

Statistics

Bug Number Notes
1550877 An issue where Intermittently, user defined statistics from the drill down action will not be created or will not show proper statistics has been resolved.
1550879 In previous releases, the Rx rate was typically greater than the Tx rate when using IMIX traffic patterns. This has been resolved in UHD release 1.2. Rx rates are now consistent with Tx rates when using IMIX traffic patterns.

Traffic

Bug Number Notes
1542875 In previous releases, ports could not sustain line rate for 66 byte frames with a frame encapsulation of Ethernet + VLAN + IPv4. Specifically, rates would be in the range of 90%-93% of line rate. With UHD 1.2, this configuration will run at 100% line rate.

Known Issues List

API

Bug Number Notes
1550889 In rare occasions while running automation via restpy you may observe "Error 405 HTTP method POST is not supported by this URL"
1552999 RestPy is not able to fetch 'BGP+ Peer Per Port' Statistics. Workaround is to fetch it as 'BGP\+ Peer Per Port'

CLI

Bug Number Notes
1550741 After setting a new static IP on management interface it is recommended to issue a reboot command.

High Route Scale

Bug Number Notes
1553006 Traffic state of ports stays running when ports are disconnected during chassis mode switch. Workaround is to refresh browser to get the right port state.

LAG/LACP

Bug Number Notes
1548933 LAG color in UI incorrectly turns red indicating the LAG is down when one member port is down. LAG is still up in this case.
1549513 Sometime LAG doesn't come up though Lacp comes up fine. As the side effect of this issue some PoLACP will not come up. Workaround is to close the session and start the test will a new session
1549639 Loss may be seen when a a LAG failover is done and the resultant LAG after failover is at max capacity.
1551897 Static LAG is not supported in this release. Though it is showing in the GUI.
1552714 For running traffic on top of LAG it is recommended to turn on traffic tracking. Without tracking control plane will become unstable.
1553662 Required minimum rate for lag = minimum supported rate * number of ports in that lag.

Statistics

Bug Number Notes
1550876 In case of no loss scenario, traffic stats loss column may show blank. Users can get 0 loss stats on stopping the traffic.
1553823 Drilldown 'per device group' from 'per lag member port learned info' view does not work properly.

Traffic

Bug Number Notes
1551762 Transmit rates may be off by greater than 0.1% in certain scenarios.
1554044 In certain IMIX scenarios, the distribution cannot be precisely encoded. The bit rate for the traffic will be correct however the frame rate will be off by more than 0.1%. The workaround for this situation is to breakout the individual frame sizes into separate traffic items with the desired packets per second rate.

UI

Bug Number Notes
1552705 Sometime the scenario editor does not update the color of the protocol stacks. Workaround is to refresh the browser or move between other pages.
